About the book.

I don’t think I can save other families involved in caregiving from making their own mistakes, forming their own alliances, having their own fights. And I’m not sure I can even help other families heal after they’ve made all the mistakes and caused all the problems they may eventually cause while caregiving. However, perhaps I can help a little. I have gained significant insight from my own experience and from watching the experiences of others.

If this book gives other families some comfort and some knowledge, it will have been well worth my trouble. This is my brother’s story, my mother’s story, and my story. The following chapters are about what others have done in their caregiving and would-be caregiving experiences and what I would do differently if I had known what I know now.
